Which is 0.3% of the nhs budget. As usual, focusing on what’s important.

Yes, but it’s an easy start.

Focussing on the easier stuff first! Saving money rather than just chucking billions more on to what is already a waste of money.

Our health secretary Matt Hancock does not know what is happening in his own department. Several meetings going ahead between senior civil servants and US drug companies about the NHS unknown to him.

Good. Let’s hope the US can chuck loads of cash in to the NHS.

You believe they will for nothing in return? What do you think of the health secretary not knowing what goes on in his own department?

Founded 1948 the population was 50 million, life expectancy was 66 & 70, retirement age 65, cost £248M....£140M over budget.

2019, population 67.9M, life expectancy 81, cost between £130B and £139B. Still underfunded.

Throwing money at it hasn't worked.

I would suggest bringing everything under one NHS. Dental, mental, paliative etc. Cut out the charities and local authorities etc.

From the cradle to the grave.

Looking at expenses, pharmaceutical companies charging extortionate prices, we've all heard of thousands of pounds for a course of treatment. medical equipment how much does that really cost, foreign patients, the number of staff on the ward go on any ward and there's the "nurses station"  just how many treat patients and how many are administrative. even with computers... It used to be matron, ward sister, charge nurse, and then nurses...

A while ago I was on a ward and a chap opposite had 2 meals, each meal time, because he had one on  that ward plus one from the ward he should have been on but they had no room.

So what would be different?

accountability, if a service is required put out a tender, if it is accepted that's the price you pay, no extras, this for pharmaceutical and equipment...

look at HS.2 all the millions over budget why should we have to pay that. The company tendered a price...

Billions? Easiest stuff or just the stuff that makes good headlines.

Jesus wept, you think the US want to fund our NHS.

And how is this different to current NHS practice?

Who else is going to?. The NHS needs a massive reform, it is <ovf censored> as it stands and has been for as long as I remember but no party is brave enough to stand up and admit it.

I’m sure they do but we should look at any solutions to solve the NHS crisis. Maybe he should, maybe he shouldn’t be involved, don’t think he’s flavour of the month within the Tory leadership.

One of the major problems with the NHS is its always trying to play catch up.
