I thought the results went for us last night apart from Forest Green, we’ve got to look at the games we are going to win, I can see us being safe just, with either Crewe,Barnet,Chesterfield and Grimsby going down for me.

 

 

 

Agree with that, so long as the Vale team find a way of winning 3/4 games.

You are probably right.

The usual target is 50 but with a few teams in the mix and playing each other I wonder if around 46-47 might be enough.

We need to try and keep our goal difference down - it's currently worth a point extra to us.

4 wins and a few draws might suffice.

Bear in mind 50 points is usually required in L1 where 4 go down so in reality with only 2 it is rare to need 50 in league two. Chesterfield on 27 points would need 23 from 14 games to get that which looks unlikely and Crewe 20 from 14.

Unfortunately, for us to get to 52pts would take a miracle on our current form.

And if we somehow did, it would mean Chesterfield would need another 25pts from their 14 games or Barnet another 27pts - I don't believe even their most ardent fans believe they can do that.

Over the last 5 seasons 47, 35 (!), 42, 51, and 52 points are enough to stay up, an average of 45. We're on 34, with 14 games remaining.

The team with the worst form are Grimsby. They have not won a game since 9th Dec. 12 games without a win, scoring only 4 goals and conceding 21.

 

They are heading for none league as things stand, unless they can change things around.

 

We should not however be looking for the results of other clubs to save us. We need to win games. There has been very little or no financial help from the club owner in the Jan window, so we have to rely on Aspin to somehow get winning results.

 

Just sacked their manager, hopefully they don't get a new manager bounch.
