There were plenty on here saying just that this time last year. Perhaps you were one of them :unsure:

 

No, last year it was obvious we were ****** as soon as Brown was appointed. I was one of those saying we were ******. Told it how it was. I am quite happy to revisit this post at the end of the season if you like, or in about 4 or 5 games Id imagine.

I remember someone saying this on here in January last season after we'd lost key players and not replaced them while being about 9 points off relegation.

 

I am very, very worried right now.

 

We haven't won in 5 and keep having to rely on teams below us being worse than us to stop us slipping further down. All it take is a few of the teams below to get a couple of wins and we'd be further in the mire.

 

Or a win Saturday and be potentially 10 points clear of danger. Do you really believe Forest Green will get 10 more points than us for the rest of the season? And Barnet 11 more? Get a grip.

 

Postive Mental Attitude is as rare as skinny Stoke fans in SOT. It really is hard work around here some time. Chin up youth.

I don't think we'll go down either, but before today's news I still felt that we were taking a bit of gamble going into the rest of the season with the squad that we have. We could do with some insurance to make sure we don't get sucked back into a fight.

Barnet are as good as gone, and we're effectively 8 points clear of FGR with our better goal difference.

 

It is a terrible league BUT there are easily two worse teams than us. It's embarrassing to say that staying up is our goal but that's the reality.

 

We'd have been absolutely sunk without Tom Pope this season, and the guy deserves several medals for being our most effective player game in, game out.

 

The big difference between this season and last is that we have a manager and mentor who know what they're doing. We'll be fine.

Hopefully we will get that news in the next 2 days. Not holding my breath but if we don't I'm positive we will still have enough to stay up then let the rebuild (again) begin in the summer. Not ideal and not what any Vale fan wants but surely we can all have faith in NA and JR to make the right signings for the club. Something we couldn't trust Brown or Bruno to do, so that's a positive in my view.

We are in a fight. I keep looking at the table and see that although we're 7 points clear of FGR, they have a game in hand as do Crewe while Yeovil have two. Aspo's said as much and it wouldn't a lot to drag us down again. I just hope you're right that we get some insurance over the next couple of days to make sure we climb up the table.

Everyone trusts in Aspo until he says we're in a relegation battle or we shouldn't have allowed Gavin ******* Gunning to leave. Suddenly all the League Manager experts on here know better.

Norman Smurthwaites Port Vale ladies and gentlemen... where not getting relegated from league two is what we are hoping for and proudly telling others won’t happen!

 

A few people were doing the same last year around the January window too.

 

When an owner spouts off saying he will cover the cost of his mistakes and will fund us not to go down, THIS MONTH is where we are supposed to see that happen.

 

I was hoping that gunning left because Aspin and Sir John didn’t want him to stay... after todays interview Aspo sounds like an unhappy manager.
