The problem replacing him is down to the time of year, clubs dont want to lose even their back up left backs, not the amazing skill set of the player leaving

But if he is so bad wouldn't he be easily replaced? like you say clubs don't want to lose their back ups - perhaps its just unique at the vale

I am sure Jules and Raglan are much better options than the two who have left, apart from one not being match fit and the other not having any first team experience.

Raglan played more than half the season for Chesterfield the year they went up and he also played 16 games last year in the league above. To say he has no first team/league experience is total garbage.

Gunning has gone. Let. It. Go.

BBC News

Preston hit back at 'wholly inaccurate reports'

Earlier this morning (08:07), I linked to a story in The Sun which said that Crystal Palace had agreed an £8m fee with Preston for striker Jordan Hugill.

The Championship side, though, have released a statement on the matter.

The club said: "Despite wholly inaccurate reports in a national newspaper this morning, we have not agreed any transfer fee with any club for Jordan Hugill.

"Jordan remains a contracted player to Preston North End Football Club.

Or perhaps it's not worth offering silly money to a very average journeyman?

Absolutely not worth offering silly money above the going rate totally agree,,, what did we offer him ? what did he want? what did forest green give him(all we know its more than us)

Not sure why you keep missing the point , perhaps we need to get rid of any other players on a decent wage and replace with a.n. other as that's the way to go.

Look forward to hearing about the rush for season tickets as the current offer is coming to an end.

Its great that people think we have our house in order and going in a forward direction - like I say the next 6 months will define pvfc in the long term wish I shared your optimism.

I long for the day the hierarchy who ever that is can turn to neil and say here is what has been generated by the club spend how you see fit but that's it and not a watered down budget to cover the last 2 years of hell ,, only then can as a club we move forward but in the short term the gamble is vales league status v the current needs - glad you are happy to take it

So much conjecture. Synectics can't afford to run a league club but that's another topic.

Hughills sale can only be good news for the club however a negative spin will be put on it by those who can't help themselves.

They may not have the financial clout, however I am sure they could run the club a damn sight better than Smurthwaite.

I cant help myself so.....Do you honestly think Smurthwaite would plough any money into the club even though he promised ?
