Preston hit back at 'wholly inaccurate reports'

Earlier this morning (08:07), I linked to a story in The Sun which said that Crystal Palace had agreed an £8m fee with Preston for striker Jordan Hugill.

 

The Championship side, though, have released a statement on the matter.

 

The club said: "Despite wholly inaccurate reports in a national newspaper this morning, we have not agreed any transfer fee with any club for Jordan Hugill.

 

"Jordan remains a contracted player to Preston North End Football Club."

Palace are tonight in talks with Preston but no deal agreed yet, as they want to base the deal on appearances.

Whether the money comes or not, it would be better spent in the Summer. Likely to be in instalments in any case, especially if performance based, so not getting too excited, if at all.
