See what happens this week, as he has only had the group for 3 days. Aspin may need to work on their fitness and change their mental approach to the 2nd half. It looks like they run out of energy in the 2nd half.

 

Did I think we would win today. No, but I hoped for the new manager bounce, but Dembele just showed he has more class and could play higher up the leagues.

 

I can see a lot of changes in training and how he manages the players to improve their confidence. You never know we may even see players going back to their clubs after a couple of weeks of the backroom staff watching them and then deciding who stays and goes.

With this squad, and the massive fragilities that are present, 3 bottom is success. What a sad state of affairs.

 

18 months ago we finished half way up league 1 with an average L1 squad. What a truly disastrous period it has been.

Brown has managed to assemble the worst Vale squad in living memory. It will be familiar to Aspin as they're mostly non league standard.

 

It's going to take ages for Aspo to sort this mess out, especially with some on 2 year contacts!

 

May as well send Roos back. Boot is better. In fact, send all loans back aside from Denton & start again.

What else could we reasonably have expected? Brown had no idea when he took over, should have kept us up but failed, and made a complete pig’s ear of pre-season. I was appalled but not surprised when Norman let him be appointed. A disaster waiting to happen.

 

All our problems stem from midfield - no cover for the defence who are constantly under pressure, no creativity or chances for the forwards who are constantly isolated, and no stamina with the likes of Tonge and Pugh in midfield, not to mention wingers who can’t seem to beat their man and put in a decent cross.

 

Brown should have seen this but the midfield positions were the last to be filled and then filled with dross. After today hopefully, Aspo can now see the extent of the task he’s taken on. Whether even he and Rudgie can sort it out with the squad we have is a huge unknown.

 

Brown will go down as the WORST manager we’ve ever had in the entire history of the club.

I think the loanees need go straight away to make way for other players. Rudge will know where our weaknesses are. Still can't believe some have come here moaning surley common sense would have people realise that it wasn't going change over night.

Gutted, did enough to get at least a draw today.

 

Saw from Grimsby exactly what Vale are missing and that's some quality in the last third, said at half time (post #123) about the quality of their midfield.

 

Grimsby one of the better teams at Vale Park this season.
