Edinburgh took Newport from second bottom in the Conference to promotion in 2 years. Then took them to 6th in league 2 before Gillingham came after him.

 

Not knocking that but after a good start at Gillingham the wheels came off and he got sacked. Rob Page esque. Then he went to Northampton and was abysmal and got sacked. Rob Page esque.

He would be a huge gamble and not one I would want us to take.

Any managerial appointment comes with a gamble. Some are bigger than others. Edinburgh is not who we need and will not reinvigorate the club and it's supporters.

The reason I would not like Aspin or even Ainswirth to manage our club, is the fact that they were legends at Vale Park and admired by everyone, ultimately 90% of managers fail, you only have to look at the way Dean Glover was treated, he was a fantastic player and captain for the club, but was hounded out after been given and failing at the managers job....Aspin had 8,000 for his testimonial game.... Ainsworth walked on the pitch and applauded the fans after the Wycombe game this season.... I have no wish to soil those memories.
