He has been approached by the media. He has described his situation and shown a supportive outlook. You would be posting he doesn't care if he had said nothing.

Thats quite the impressive hypothetical there Warren

I don't see why we keep going back to Adams. Did a great job, but hasn't exactly had much success since (Tranmere). Screwed us over in the 10/11 season. We need to get over him.

It does make me chuckle to see people say "I don't want Coleman, he didn't do very well at Rochdale", ignoring the unreal work he's done for 98% of his career, and then in the same post "I'd have Micky back", who, since leaving Vale, got Tranmere relegated and had a stint with Sligo. Vale now is nothing like Vale under the days of Adams. Move on. We need someone fresh.

Askey? Based on what? His Dad playing for the Vale?

Who will you suggest next? Garlick's Mum?

Askey hasn't failed in the league like Coleman. He's doing a steady job at Macclesfield like Coleman is at the moment at Accrington.

And yes I think a link to Port Vale is better than no link to Port Vale. Sue me.

Yeah Coleman's unreal work for 98% of his career is that unreal that no one else cares about it enough to give him a job.

I really don't understand why so many people are so obsessed with him. There's certainly worse appointments but surely we have a bit more ambition than someone who has managed to keep a non league team in the league for a few years.

Unlike Askey, who has kept his non-league side in non-league

Anyone who attended the 2-2 draw with Rochdale at Vale Park (when Morsy got sent off) in the promotion season if they think back may change their mind on him. They were a disgrace that night, some of the worst antics seen. Made Westley look like Zizou.

If we go back to Adams for a 3rd time it will truly smack of a massive lack of recruitment strategy.

There's dozens of viable candidates out there but instead we choose to go back to a man who, as we speak, coaches under 18s in non league and youth football in a former Soviet satellite state, whilst writing a book. Add to that that his last 2 jobs involved taking Tranmere out the league (which they still haven't returned from) and a spell battling relegation in the part-time Irish league.

Will always be thankful to Micky for the miracle 12/13 season, but come on. A bit of imagination people. Its like people who bang on about getting Rudgey back in in some capacity. Stop living in the past. Horton's getting mentioned.

Its honestly really funny. We resign Pope and Davis, and want Micky back, with others clamouring for Rudgey and Horton. Are we that incapable of forward thinking?
