I don't understand the hype about Coleman either. Like Ainsworth he's just kept a steady ship at Accrington but couldn't cut the mustard when he went to Rochdale and went back to Accrington and has been there since.

 

Like we did when we appointed Micky Adams, we need a reasonable name, with enough experience, good contacts and a reasonable previous record.

 

So for me it has to be a manager who is currently available so someone along the lines of a Nigel Adkins, Steve Cotterall, Brian McDermott, Billy Davies or really pushing the boat out in Nigel Pearson.

 

After listening to Smurf on Radio Stoke and him saying that he wants to come back and try to build bridges again, well he's just going to have to 'suck the mop' put his hand in his pocked and pay the going rate for someone decent. Then he may go a small way to restoring a bit of faith back in the club, and it may, just may restore a small bit a faith back with the fan base.

Well I know a few that stopped going when Adams was forced out so I'm pretty sure they'd be back at least.

People don't attend because of who a manager is.

 

Until Vale have a sustained successful spell people won't return and may not even then tbh. Its possibly gone too far and the competition for support is now too great.
