It’s unusual to see so many of the Vale squad who were released in the summer to be without clubs. Here is a list. Note: please feel free to correct us if we have any of these players’ details wrong. Remie Streete Perhaps the most surprising name on this list, Streete was widely expected to […]

They either have enough cash to enable them to idle their time away, have jobs or businesses outside football or other clubs don't consider them an asset. Either way Eagles,Bikey, Taylor and Streete would be welcome additions to the squad IMHO.

Taylor !! would not get anywhere near my squad, half hearted excuse for a player. The other 3 yes, however as other posters have said , must be content with earning interest on their money and watching daytime TV or playing Golf.

Not sure about "idle their time away" but as many were on long-term deals and agreed a settlement I would suspect some are not in a hurry and can decide to pick and choose.

The ones I am most surprised about are Streete/Eagles - I would have thought they would have been at a L1 club by now.

I guess Taylor, Bikey and Thomas' injury records and age count against them.

We signed a lot of rubbish last season. Brown appears to have done the same again this season in most cases.

the list next year read the same

Hornby

Gunning

Barnett

Tonge

Yates

De Freitas

all will be released along with whatever that he brings in in a mad panic after the loan and transfer window closes in Jan

Disagree on Tonge, I think he could be a good player for us. Keeps the ball well and looks a threat with his free kick delivery. But you have to play the right system around him. Not seen anything of Barnett, I'm hoping hes a more mobile Tom Pope and wasn't ADF already on a 2 year deal from last season, anyway I too wouldn't be surprised to see him gone as well.
