Anybody who thinks that Smurthwaite will dismiss Brown,Morgan and Kelly is living in cloud cuckoo land.

Even though Smuthwaite reckons he has taken a back seat, nothing but nothing will alter until he leaves,he is the root cause of all the problems, and he certainly wont fund any dismissals.

While he resigned due to the untenable run of poor performances, I would be extremely surprised if escaping from NS wasn't a big factor in pushing him over the edge.

To that end I'm very much looking forward to his autobiography coming out a month on Thursday....

And if he mentions nothing of the sort? Will you accept that it had nothing to do with him? I will be happy to admit that I was wrong if it transpires Norm was the reason Micky left but from what I have heard from those I know at the club Norman barely spoke to the manager or the players during that time. He very much took a back seat.

Either way its highly unlikely Micky would come back but we need someone of his ilk to get us going again, someone who works well under limitations and someone who will get the best out of these players. Brown is a coach at best, if he stays we are going to struggle massively this season. Only the fact there is a couple of awful sides in the division will be the reason we keep our league status without change on the bench.

Long list but only a handful I think suitable.

Ainsworth is the standout in my opinion and said so for quite a while but can't help feeling that it's the very top i.e Smurf who needs to go first.

Aside from the "new manager" debate..I find it disheartening when Mr Adams is slagged off by some..Im not great at stats but isn't he the manager with best win ratio??...Rudge is legend...hero..no doubt..but give Adams a break..(No don't want him back..nor rudge.. .ainsworth...aspin...horton..)

We.

Have.

No.

Money.

You are so naive.

You even think we have a top end league 2 budget.

You're deluded.

When you get in the real world with where we are and the owner who is sending your football club out of the football league then come back to me.

Where is the money coming from for paying Brown and co off and employing a new manager?

I'd love to know.

The players we sign are on peanuts.

Our management team are probably on peanuts.

Our physios are young kids on peanuts.

Smurthwaite says we will have to fend for ourselves this season. Fair enough.

Sadly for us he has duped fans into telling them it's out of his sweetie jar, when infact he wants it all back.

We are in a huge mess.

Some of the names on this thread are laugh out loud funny because there is no chance in hell there'll be manager. I don't think Brown will walk. He knows this is his chance so if he walks, he won't get another manager's job in the league for years to come. Smurf won't sack him because it costs money. If (I don't think he will but let's play along) he does sack him, he won't pay compensation to another club because it costs money and why would the likes of Ainsworth walk away from a team in the same division, to a worse situation with a trigger happy chairman with no money. So we're left with managers not good enough to hold down a job or our usual route of the first time manager. Wouldn't put it past us to appoint Tom Pope as player manager at this stage because of his proven track record at Sunday League.
