Lottery scams!!

FATBOYSTEVE

Recommended Posts

Have you noticed how many different lotteries are being pushed via tv thing like postcode lottery ,health lottery, cat lottery etc etc

When will people realise these are all a tax on the stupid ? And it's time they were banned as it's. encouraging gambling addictions and a sly way for this corrupt government to raise money. People would soon object if pounds we're put on income tax to fund these so called good causes time to wake up and smell the coffee

Gambling is sin................ And very very stupid. You don't see betting firm owners in clapped out Fiestas.

It might be stupid but when you win money it actually feels quite logical...the problem is losses are inevitable and many people are psychologically addicted once they know in the back of their minds they can win. Take football...there is now every single aspect of a match you can bet on....UK football and worldwide football...all at the touch of a keypad on your keyboard...it's so easy to win some extra cash.

Discipline is needed though to make any profit if you are inclined to go for nearly every match you see you will lose.

Working class people are more susceptible because of the low wages that many working people earn in this country is not enough

I think you just proved my point.

The vast majority of people gamble for a bit of fun. Yes, you want to win, but it's light entertainment. Some people do get addicted, but this happens in most forms of life such as smoking, drinking, eating etc etc. Ban it by all means, but do we then ban ALL addictive activities ? Of which their are too many to list here.

The difference between tax and gambling is choice.

Why do you call them scams? Are you saying that they don't pay out to the winners or the causes they claim to support or they 'hold on' to more money for staff etc than they claim?? That's the only way they would be a scam

I do think gambling should be less mainstream and I worry about the ease with which online gambling is accessible but that doesn't make them scams.

Of course these things are scams, nobody should be allowed to run a lottery other than thse state, especially one called the Health Lottery which implies all the profit goes to the NHS - of course, it doesn't.

Same as these plastic bags that pollute our mail asking for clothes for all sorts of fake charities and scam people, if the charity is genuine they only get 5 or 10 per cent of what is made.

Nothing to do with the morals or otherwise of gambling which is a separate issue.
