Any other stating-the-blooming-obvious news? "Players will sign for the Vale only if nothing better comes up" Wow. My flabber has rarely been so ghasted. Next headline "Port Vale may miss out on Premiership reserve team players because they haven't got two pennies to rub together?" "Rooney says no to Vale because the oatcake allowance on offer was not up to Premiership standards". Brown says "we might some players - or we might not". It's gripping stuff isn't it? Hold the Horlicks, I want to stay awake for this....

In Brown's defence he cant come out and tell the truth can he ?

Why not if he has any balls he should offer his resignation now rather than prolong it until he is sacked.

When will people realise that he was a good footballer in his prime but Management skills are poor with poor tactics and unable to persuade players to commit to sign for the club. After last season he can't persuade Eagles and Bikey to sign despite him giving them a chance to rejuvenate their careers.

Bikey couldn't get a club to offer him a contract and Eagles was struggling to get his place at Accrington Stanley.

If it is about how much money is offered(it usually is). I would withdraw the offer to Taylor and split it and offer the extra to both Bikey and Eagles. I want quality over quantity, we saw last season what quantity did, get a smaller squad with better players.

So players' hang about signing new contracts because they are looking for greener pastures, Yep, that's how it is these days.

Come kick-off day they haven't found greener pastures and say they now want to sign on.

If I was a the manager I'd welcome them with a reduced terms - take or leave it.

This was always going to be the case. Wait the month and then come out with I want to wait and see what happens, as I may get a better offer than Vale. There is not a lot of loyalty by players now. One or two yes, but it is what the agent wants and the players go with it.

Hopefully, Brown and the staff have looked for other players to come in now and can activate plan X and sign a couple more players that are breaking into the game. Can start seeing this is going to be a long hard season, when you see quality players being signed by other clubs and we haven't.

I know it is still early and there are plenty out there. Just saying it seems to becoming a trend over the seasons. Players or mainly their agents holding Vale at ransom and then using us as the last choice as no other club has signed them.

It's a tough call as a manager, if Page had waited an extra week we'd have kept Marshall rather than enduring 2 years of Kelly. Yes you are right completely there is no loyalty from players buy we don't even expect it now.

Taylor tried this trick before. He left in January, nobody would have him and Brown welcomed him back with open arms in March. Is he going to try the same trick again?

As many on here me included have said Santa i have no idea how he warranted an offer in the first place.

Corners, free kicks are his speciality apparently, funny as 90% of the time they were horrific. Unable to beat the first man off his corners or regularly over hitting balls.

Move on Brown to someone who actually gives a s**t and wants to play for the shirt.

Same here. Nobody who went to Chesterfield will ever forget his free kick in the last minute.

Taylor reminds me of Michael O'Connor in that he thinks he is better than he actually is. He will be good in league 2 as the pace should not catch him out, but given his injury history I doubt he will cope with the added physicality.

Eagles should get the red carpet rolled out for him. He could be the difference in us getting promoted.
