I like this signing! Hopefully it's with a view to a permanent move if he does well.

Although if he does well, no doubt he'll be off somewhere else when his loan ends in January.

Ben Whitfield is coming into his own as Yeovil Town enter the final stage of the Sky Bet League Two season.

The 21-year-old has been a regular fixture in Darren Way's side throughout the campaign, but ever since he took up a position on the left of midfield two games ago he has taken his game to another level.

Saturday's man of the match display at Morecambe – in which he assisted two goals – was followed up by another scintillating performance at Barnet in which he showed fantastic awareness to charge down Benji Buchel's clearance to give Yeovil the lead, before providing the pass for Liam Shephard's injury time equaliser.

Way's decision to switch formation in the last two matches has given the Glovers a new lease of life and made Whitfield – whose versatility had already made him a valuable asset – a crucial part of the side.

Whitfield said: "The gaffer's put trust in me there and I'm providing it at the minute and that's all I can do for the team.

"Cutting in is what I want to do. If I go down the line and cross with my left foot, as long as there's people in the box we've got a chance of scoring.

"We can swap and change formation to the team we're playing on the day, but in the 4-4-2 I'm more than capable of playing out on the left and I'm enjoying it at the moment.

"I'm just happy to be playing football and the gaffer's trusted me to go out there and put a performance in.

"That's all I can go and do and if I can do that week in, week out then I hope the team can keep going on a run."

Good experienced head in the camp. Popey likes having him around so let's move on. TylerDenton would cap a very good day. Leeds being linked with a move for Borthwick Jackson from United,so Denton expected to go somewhere for game time.

The Bournemouth lad seems a good signing. Nice to see he has had a whole season under his belt as well and not totally green like many loans you get. If we can get the left back from Leeds I'll be feeling a lot better than I was yesterday. Just would like a younger more mobile centre mid. Hope we are waiting to sort a deal out for guy, and then we will be sorted.
