Premier League 2017/18 Season

Don't agree on the third goal. If it was offside it was minimal at best. I couldn't tell if the player that scored was in front of the ball when it was passed to him after several replays so there was no way the linesman could have in amongst all the bodies.

Arsenal's fourth goal shouldn't have stood because it was handball from Ozil in the run up to the corner. Chelsea could argue the Cahill red card was harsh. You could be here all day moaning about decisions that did or didn't go your way. The fact is Liverpool didn't defend the corner well enough and didn't deserve the win as a result.

Nonsense. The defender that bundled the ball in the goal in the end was clearly offside, and quite clearly interfering with play seeing as he was stood right in front of Mignolet! If that was Vale on the end of that decision you'd have been foaming at the mouth. That said,if Wijnaldum did a bit better it would never have happened in the first place.

They won't win the title this season, Man City will. But Watford will beat plenty of teams at home this season and it might just turn out to be a decent point away from home come the end of the season. There's no way that they're third goal should have stood either and had the correct call been made everybody would have been saying good job Liverpool, despite the poor goals conceded.

If Liverpool had defended even remotely well everybody would have been saying good job Liverpool cos they would have won.Its a sad day when for Liverpool luck means more than competence.

At the point where the player has the shot, he's almost on the byline, level with the attacker in front of Mignolet. It was close but in real time the assistant probably judged they were level and having seen the replay again that's a fair comment to make.

I'm still not buying it. The goal shouldn't have been allowed but was. But with that said, the real issue for me was the it should have been prevented in the first place more than the goal being given itself.

The goal was not off side. As the cross was made it was travelling backwards and deflected forward off the defender's thigh and therefore played the goal scorer onside.

Liverpool scraped past Crystal Palace while Arsenal yet again choked at Stoke. I don't think either of those will be anywhere near the title this season.

Looks like Man United could be title contenders now. Two impressive results.

Scraped past Crystal Palace?

Get a clue. Palace had one chance all game, which Benteke blazed over, whereas Liverpool in the 2nd half alone could and should have scored four. As a team they looked far better balanced than they did against Watford when they scored three goals!

If it means that the opposition has one chance in 90 minutes then I hope Liverpool "scrape" past teams throughout the season. Had Vale put in the same type of performance and kept a clean sheet you'd be spunking in your Y fronts.

Shock horror, Wenger taking nonsense yet again!

"We know we don't get penalties," said Wenger. "Look at the numbers and you will see.

"We had last year the highest number of penalties against us at home by a mile and the lowest number for us. So I give you just the numbers. I don't say anything else."

Wenger's side were awarded six penalties last season, a tally bettered by only five other Premier League sides. Four of those were given at Emirates Stadium, only Tottenham (seven) and Bournemouth (five) won more at home.

Yes scraped. You didn't take your chances and could easily have lost the game had Benteke not missed a sitter. It was a game you could have won easily and scraped home by one goal because of poor finishing.

Considering Huddersfield put 3 past them I don't think a 1-0 win against Palace is anything to celebrate.

Liverpool not being clinical doesn't mean that they were scraping for the 3 points. In extra time it was still Liverpool who were well on top. Any side is likely to get one chance at least in any game, and luckily for us it fell to Benteke on the floor who showed why Liverpool got rid of him in the first place. Palace have also been a bogey team for Liverpool in recent years, especially at Anfield, and so Liverpool dispatching them comfortably, I'll take that, even if they only scored one goal. I think it hurts you a little to see Liverpool making a decent start to the season without what many would call their best player!

A decent start? A draw away at Watford and a 1-0 win at home to a team that just got battered by the relegation favourites? I wouldn't call that a good start. Manchester United have had a good start. A good start for Liverpool would have been 6 points. It's an ok start, but decent is pushing it.
