He won't be part of the squad

Sent from my SM-G900F using the onevalefan mobile app

With all due respect sire, I don't think selecting players is part of your duties. And as he is not a clockwork player, he in't here for one of your wind-ups.

He may turn out to be a superb player, dreams can come true, and I wishhm wel.

In other words, PV foundation, not PVFC, recruit teenager for community indoor football 5 a side.

Why this prompted an article on the official website I seriously struggle to understand, other than the obvious advertisement opportunity for the Foundation which was well taken. It's not a squad signing.

Well the article never mentions the first team squad, the site is all things Port Vale, I'm unsure of the issue, as it sounds like positive news to me.

Obviously the club is branching out into other areas, & wants to compete in other competitions. The signing of our first ever futsal player seems worthy of an article to me.

My son's US Club soccer team played Futsal for a year at U18 level. Skill was at a premium, the scooped pass with the "dead Futsal ball", no offsides and no restictions of attackers in front of the goal made it "interesting" but the hard floor, the lads kicking six bells out of each other, slide tackling allowed (The lack of quality refs didn't help) made it dangerous and I was relieved each time our team emerged without injuries.

Give me traditional 5-a-side as played in England any day with no/limited physical contact, no slide tackling, no ball above shoulder height rule, the wide, low height goals and no player in the D in front of the goal which affords much protection to the goal keeper. Much better for developing skill and more emphasis on skill and control.

Like others have said why make a big deal of the signing but good luck to the lad, he might also have a future in 11-a-side.
