I'm not exactly buzzing about this but it does make me laugh seeing the 'released from Blackpool' comments.

These are the same fans (correctly) worshipping Eagles.

Pugh won't get us promoted but its not like we've signed a winger from the Norwegian third tier.

If that's true it's been a pretty disasterous first day for Brown and his boys!

Certainly has been difficult, but mopping up after Smurthwaites relegation was always going to be a challenge.

Think eagles also divides opinion, certainly improved as his season progressed but my concern is he is good with the ball yet does nothing without and lets opposition players walk past him and when on the wing leaves the full backs exposed 2 on 1, needs to be played in a free role behind a striker and occupy our middle half when we defend ready to get forward with the ball.

can see him in 4 2 3 1 role playing in one of the 3 positions in support of the forward or 3 5 2 role middle or up top with a tough no nonsense ctr forward and wingers in support.

Pugh again splits opinion think ctr mid is beyond him but sitting in front (ala grant) of defence or maybe right back might be where he is best suited

Wrong. Eagles is a poor to mediocre player who stood out because he was surrounded by crap.

I think you'll find that'll be down to your beloved former chairman rather than Brown.

You need to get over the Smurf blaming for this one.

Smurf got us relegated fact.

Brown had a transfer window and no one wanted to sign. He could not even loan a descent keeper it was no shock that Annick was leaving.

Brown simply had insufficient contacts in the game would you come to Port Vale if you were a Chelsea starlet to work under the notorious coaching skills of Brown.

I really hope browns "Dads Army Team" of journey men can keep us in the league for a couple of seasons until smurf sells for a realistic price.

Browns statement " the budget for next season should allow us a good quality side". Does not give me great confidence.

It will be hard to swallow but Crewe are much better equity with the no messing Artel than we are with brown:

Let's hope Mr browns boys are better than we think.

In English would've sufficed but I sort of understand the Bollock$ your spouting.

Decent squad player if can stay fit. It is a start to Brown building the squad. Now we need quality players.

Streete going is not a surprise if true. Was never going to stay after this season due to circumstances which has been well publicised.

Eagles did well in patches but Pugh....really?? Not good enough to be in a team in L2 ? If we have ambition to get out of the league 1st attempt not seen it yet.

Hagrid a bet you could get about the pitch better than Pugh!

Q - Was Remie Streete offered a contract?

Colin G says: "We would have liked to have kept him. We are in Lge 2 and he believes he can play at a higher level. But the wages that this commands is what we have to be careful about.

"If we could have done a deal then we would, but that's no reflection on us or Remie. I shook his hand and wished him all the best, as he wishes us all the best."

He confirms Vale won't get a free for Streete.

That's unfair. Pugh always put in a shift and was far more involved in games than say Taylor. He has kept himself fit and will be a cheap but decent squad player to have around.

Putting in a shift is bare minimum. As for Taylor, he scored and assisted so i'd say was more involved than Pugh.
