Another poor Smurf decision

Iron Curtain

Recommended Posts

How do you know how much money they have? If you compare companies house information they have more than Smurthwaite but we both know that doesn't show personal wealth. There is no proof Smurthwaite is worth £75 million, you only have his word for what he is worth, the same as you only have his word about Synectics and why they didn't buy the club. There are always 2 sides to a story.

Normans accountant is actually a friend of the family and you are right, he is not worth £75m, it's a lot more actually.

1.3M of unpaid debt incurred by PW is what got the Club promoted, debt that in August 13 nearly saw the end of PV

No.....another administration maybe. Smurf has killed this club. PW was obviously the brains behind the running of the club then and Smurf with the money. Lose the brains and the club has become a complete disaster.

Bottom line is the longer Smurf is here the more he will lose money, the club will continue to devalue, lower the gates will get and the more run down the stadium will become.

Please Smurf, cut your losses, find a buyer at the valued price for the club which is less than you paid for it and make way to someone who can bring back this club from the mess it is in.

I am far from angry, I don't see an alternative at the moment, I sat personally with Norman before the season started and his passion to deliver Championship football was unbelievable, I also know what wage budget he told me he would spend and I believe he has spent that and more, I look back to V2001 they owed money to everyman and his dog, the only debt vale have is to the man who single handled owns the club! Has Norman made mistakes ? Yes. Did Bill Bell make mistakes ? Yes. Was v2001 a mistake ? Yes.

So you believed everything that Norman told you.

You have potentially just landed Norman's account in a bit of bother. He shouldn't be telling people what his clients are worth.

Also the argument has never been 'is Norman rich enough to run the club'... the question is 'is Norman capable of running the club'

His string of shocking decisions indicate that he isn't.

Maybe

If it gets very uncomfortable as you say you will have a silent/non present non contributing owner. Then the gun will be cocked as they say

I don't underrate these veiled threats either.

One minute you the chairman is saying he won't sell to Synectics because they need a loan to buy the club.

The next minute he is threatening to sell to a hedge fund or worse if proper don't stop questioning him.

Surely if you are willing to do the second, just do the first.

I was just correcting Tim. And I think she will be alright.

If Port Vale stop up and it's looking more difficult after today, Norman has done on large a good job he found the club in the basement division and had a few decent seasons back in the 3rd division

Yea a great job he has done.We have gone from around the play offs around Christmas time to the relegation zone in 4 months.

Norman is clearly a hard man to work for, vale have had 4 different commercial managers since he took over, 4 different managers. He is here to stay in my view

So with such a huge turn over of staff you think he is the man to take us forward? Why is there such a huge turn over of staff?

I think Norman has now appointed a CEO, I think he will say regardless of what division vale are in, there is the budget and let the the CEO and who ever is the manager get on with it next season. I just hope the CEO spends it better than Norman has wasted it this season

You THINK he will let the the CEO get on with it?

I'm not so sure......She might be alright Smurthwaite might not, you seem to have a record on here of indiscretion, Birchall, Pope, ect. I suggest you stick to replacing divots, and raking the bunkers.
