Well Done Port Vale

MBE

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to create a thread to congratulate Port Vale for successfully hosting the England ladies football match.

It's great to see the club shown in a positive light on the national stage so a big well done to the chairman and the team at Port Vale.

Was a good game

Think the girls need shoot abit more they seemed scared of taking a shot nobbs(number 7) looks dangerous and first half was all over the place and our number 4 she's a class act wins the ball and very good in the air puts the Vale defence to shame.

Was well worth getting a ticket first experience for me watching women's ill watch another if I get a chance :D

Can't really blame Vale for the parking and there was plenty up the road where I usually park. As for getting in I got there about 20 minutes before kick off and it was fine, there seemed a huge surge of people with about 10 minutes to go before kick off.

A few years ago I went to watch Man Utd in a Capital One Cup tie with a friend. We were queuing 20 minutes after kick off behind the Stretford End and were told that this was quite common at big clubs. Apparently queuing times can top 30 mins for Premier League games. With this in mind I don't think you can hold the queuing against Vale as a slight, it's just the effects of a big crowd. I've heard stories of people queing right down Bycars for 30 mins after kick off and even delayed kick offs for those aforementioned big games. It's just the impact of having a big crowd, something which we experience extremely rarely these days. I thought the match went very well and the stadium looks great when viewed from the away end, looks bigger for some reason, really cavernous like Villa Park. I'd love the club to create some kind of link up with the FA so we could have things like this at VP more often i.e. women's and U21 games. Oh and that Lorne St is definitely coming on. That would be a huge feather in Norman's cap if he could finally become the first chairman to finish that.
