Away form

I think we now need to do something radical now.

The same old tactics are just not working and the simple facts are we need two wins to stay up and they are likely to need to come away from home.

I've been saying it all along but I would now definitely setup 5-3-2 for Chesterfield. At the back would be Smith, Bikey and Streete with Kiko and Purkiss the wing backs. The midfield 3 would be Taylor, Foley and De Freitas with Eagles and Hooper up top.

I suspect Tavares will never play again as there's either been a huge falling out behind the scenes or because it will trigger a further payment to his old club.

It is absolutely imperative we win on Saturday now, however we achieve this.

Add these up over a game and it's a huge issue.

Every away game is like one big patchwork quilt of little individual errors, feeble turnovers of possession and lost individual battles, that all accumulate over the course of the 90 minutes.

Away form and attitude have NOT improved under Brown, which is a bit of a mystery to me considering how Brown used to be as a player. We all felt he would shake the team up and get in their ears, rollicking them and organising a decent squad for at least the away games. No way. The same old tripe and tactics, poor attitude, lilly livered performances from most of the prima donnas stealing a wage. I just don't get it.

He's having to work with some very poor players. I think that's the bottom line. A good number have been plucked from semi pro football and to be brutally honest they ought to have been left there.

The same poor players who he plays at home and at least put effort in. Brown seems unable to organise a knees up in a brewery when it comes to tactics and encouragement away from vale park. Thats what gets my goat about him. Very undecided still if he's right man for long term.

We were excellent at Southend and should've held on for victory. We lost at Northampton because the Keeper decided to let in two absolute howlers. Coventry and Rochdale were inexcusable.

But I agree with the general tone of the thread, to only win once away from home in this league all season is embarrassing.

Not quite sure it was inexcusable.

The sending off absolutely changed everything and any game plan or chance was lost in that moment.
