Hooper - expires 2017 - potentially keep

Pugh - expires 2017 - Would keep

Knopps - expires 2018 - Keep

Tavares - expires 2018 - Needs to go if not being played

Peirea - expires 2018

De Freitas - Expires 2018 - Keep

Mbamba - expires 2018 - Needs to go if not being played

Smith - expires 2019 - Keep

 

That leaves a squad of 9, big job no matter what.

Smith has potential but is nowhere near as good as people make out. Streete will be off. A chairman of any ambition would have tied him down by now. Doubt Foley would want to sink a level.

I think these are easy decisions if in L1 (unlikely) for 2017 expiry

Build a team around Streete, Foley and Forrester to have a strong spine. Keep Boot and release the rest.Would possibly keep Eagles based on how he goes over next 2 months.

 

If relegated to L2 assuming Streete and Foley would not stay I would keep Boot,Yates & Forrester.

 

Either way we desperately need to move Tavares,Peirea & Mbamba on and the priority must be to appoint a manager and have a long term plan.

 

I wouldn't be surprised to see Smith sold which I'm hoping will allow Smurf to recoup his money paid into the club as director loans so he can sell the club for market value.

With Smurtwaite in charge I don't trust him in any way shape or form and I can see us doing a Tranmere Wrexham Stockport or Chester, that's if he doesn't close us down before hand.

My thoughts entirely. The only ones that are likely to be here next term are the ones that the fans don't wish to keep.

It's obvious we are going down. I would give game time now to all the foreign lads that are going to be here next year. Try and get them prepared for next season and getting them to gel together.

I'd keep Streete and Smith, the rest can go. I think that they both will leave anyway. Get rid of everyone, inc temp manager and appoint a seasoned manager on or before the last game of the season and give him the whole budget and for Smurf to keep out of any contract talks. I think I might be asking a bit too much for this to happen.
