Rochdale match only a quid!

Here is a great opportunity (soon to be missed) for Smurf to reconnect with the fans.

Could ask for entire side stand and then buy the full allocation (publising the fact he's done it from his own back pocket), put on some free busses (we are not talking 1000's & 1000s and give tickets on a first come first serve basis either calling to book a ticket and coach seat or collection from ticket office (2 per person). Something like that.

What would cost around £3-4,000 max could win him some credibility back and a bit of acknowledgement of how bad things have gotten. A further good will gesture ontop of Rochdale's £1 offer (and a good deal for Rochdale if we sell a full stand) and get loads of Vale fans to back the lads.

I'm not sure...I doubt this would make much of a difference to most people's views on NS one way or another.

Also if people booked coach spaces and tickets then don't bother going for whatever reason, he's burnt his cash on half-empty coaches. He can probably think of better ways to spend a few K and so can I!

We'd be better off doing our own £1 day for a home game and making sure it's advertised, promoted and catered for properly.

Anyone know the best way to get there from Salford Quays or Manchester??

Tram to Victoria, train from Victoria to Rochdale. Don't bother getting a tram to Rochdale because it stops at all points between and takes about three quarters of an hour. The train is miles quicker.

20-30 minute walk to the ground through the town centre, past the town hall (the one Hitler would have had moved brick by brick if he'd won the war) , the big Asda then up a hill. Or you could just taxi it. The Baum is the best ale/craft beer pub in Rochdale.

The away side takes 2,733 if I remember. We filled it when we got promoted.

Great chippy in that street behind so don't have any tea before you go.

The side holds 3,600, we had 2,900 there that day. Think a couple of rows at the front were cordoned off, but remember wondering where another 700 would fit.

We got taxis last time, cost about £40 going and he turned up about half an hour late got to the game 20 past and the turnstiles were closed. Eventually got in after half time. Called a local taxi to get back into Manchester, cost £18 and turned up immediately. Train/Tram there cab back if late.
