I'm not arguing a case in favour but I can see where the comment came from I think.

He is someone with vast experience in the game and one of the things he made sure about was that he signed a number of physical, strong, tall players because he knew that at this level, first and foremost, you have to compete.

Didn't we have the likes of MacDonald, McCombe, Loft, Purse, etc when he was here?

 

I don't advocate his return but I think it's out of order to criticise the bloke. He did a lot for us, including holding the club together in the dark days of administration. Afford him a bit of respect.

If Micky Adams came back it should only be in a advisory capacity on how Smurf can make the club become a football club and what's happening at the moment. Where Smurf needs to improve the club and become a club that is attractive to prospective players. Wonder how many did not come here due to the clubs rep at the moment.

Absolutely amazed the stick he gets.

Second to John Rudge as our most successful manager since Freddie Steele. Fact.

A win ratio of over 40% spanning almost 250 games.

Delivered our first promotion for two decades with great attacking football against all odds.

Held the club together when it seemingly was going to the wall.

Led us to 9th in our first season back in league 1.

Sadly he left after a bad spell at the start of next season but we were in nowhere near the state some made out. You're not in a relegation battle after 8 matches!!!

I'm not advocating his return but **** me, at least acknowledge that the man was a success here and give him the respect he so rightfully deserves.

We've disagreed over other things tonight but that post is absolutely spot on for me. The man held the club together and then created a promotion winning side off the back of it, how many others have done that?

Mickey did a great job for us but his era is now in the past. Let's hope the Brown era is one we can (eventually) enjoy.

Tranmere were bottom of the football league when Adams took over. I assume then you will be saying Brown took us down if we don't stay up and you will appropriate no blame to Bruno? OK
