Get Adams back

It's not particularly the work ethic that is at fault but the balance of the team.

We've got too many young, unproven lads in the squad, too many that are not our own players, too many in one position and not enough in another, and not enough seasoned pros who can manage the game. That's the issue.

I like a team that has got leaders on the pitch, lads that have seen it and got the tee-shirt and know how to play the referee, slow it down when necessary, but also when to put their foot in. We look desperately short of such lads at the moment. The only two I'd part classify who are a bit like that, who would run through a brick wall for us, are maybe Smith and Foley but they are not leaders.

We go with what we've got now unless there are any non contract players out there who might add to the squad.

Two years ago I recall Pope (with O'Connor) helping us back into the PNE game at home and we battled gamely for a draw. I can't see anyone dragging us across the line like that now. But that's what we need - some grit, determination and physical presence in refusing to accept defeat.

Adams should always be held as a Vale legend. He would still do a solid job but Brown has done little wrong so far.

The real reality is we need new investment. It does not matter who the manager is, we progressed under Adams due to a good period of relative squad stability between 2012-2016.

In a summer where we lost a whole first team squad, losing another 2 key players from said squad was always going to be a regressive move.

Was having a very similar conversation with my dad yesterday. We seem to have no leaders on the pitch so at least need a strong experienced manager in the dugout. Personally I would love to have Micky back until the end of the season to try and rescue us out of the ****. It worked for Oldham last year with Sheridan.

Sorry but Brown has done little right !!!

could not of picked a better few opening fixtures bar Scunny away, and he has 5 points from 5 games.

3 of whom were in the bottom 4 and Posh who had just lost 3 in a row scoring 1 and conceding 11.

Maybe he has got constraints and his hands are tied but i,m sorry Michael Brown had better not be the future manager of this club.
