Planning our last 2 home games of the season !

This game could be massive for both of us, they will sell the Hamil out easy, and if they could get promoted or win the title that day could bring thousands more than the allocated Hamil . We now have cash turnstiles pay on the day in the home ends which could encourage united fans into the home ends, I for one would let them have the bycars as well as Hamil which would also generate much needed income , but I know from the past some fans wouldn't agree to this, any thought, I got my tin hat on,

I'll guarantee you two things:

1) The Police would never allow the Bycars to given over to away fans.

2) The cash turnstiles will be suspended should Utd sell out their allocation.

I agree about getting as many of them in the ground as possible, but I'd do it differently. I know people don't like this as I've had disagreements with people on here about it before. I'd give them the paddock and stand. Make as much money from them as possible, work with synectics and the police to get their coaches etc parked there, and it would make it easier to keep as secure as possible given the higher risk of trouble on the day. Use it as an expirement to give Vale the Hamil and sell it in a way that hopefully increases the home gate.

It won't happen, and it would make it easier if we had the lorne street finished to give those who want a side view of the game more options, but I think it's worth a try as a one off.

Increased revenue plus it lowers the risk of their fans in our end.

Bigger tin hat on.

It's an interesting topic, and one that has perhaps more aspects to it than it may appear to have at first.

On the face of it I would be in favour of maximising income by giving out an extra area to Blades fans. If we were safe in mid-table and no chance of play-offs or relegation, it would be fine.

Nowever, if we are desperate for a point, still on a knife edge, then it could be a very costly mistake to allow them added support that might tip the balance and actually cost us relegation.

Support does matter, players do respond, and if it is only money that counts than might as well play it at Sheffield (I know that isn't allowed).

Another question is whether additional police costs would swallow up most of any extra income if something like 8000 Blades fans come instead of 4500 ?

I wonder if Micky Adams will be there. Would be nice for him (and us) if United had already got promotion but we beat them to ensure our own safety on the day. Then he can cheer Sheffield on to the pitch and Vale off it.

I imagine it be a heavily policed match after the last year's shambles when there were no Police on the footprint at all. The Blades fans kicked off big time when they were kettled on Hamil Road with the OB not being allowed on to the car park.

I cannot see the police allowing more than the Hamil Capacity. Points are more important than money, all that happens is the policing coasts gobble up the extra revenue, apart from moving most of the STs to an end view, very good for renewals I don't think. How many Prem clubs allow more than 4000 visiting fans?

Yes but prem clubs don't need the extra revenue, I'm leaning on the side of giving the blunts extra areas.

Massive tin hat on.

How do we know they will be all that keen to come? They play Bradford City on Easter Monday, massive game.

Bradford is at home, the majority of Sheffield fans will have their season tickets for that match. Make no mistake if they need a win to guarantee promotion or the title as is possible, they could easily sell 7000 - 8000 tickets if they were available, am sure they won't. Sheffield United are a massive club and have been stuck in this league for over 5 years, we took nearly 4000 Rochdale a few years back in the hope of seeing promotion that day, they could easily sell double that.
