I suspect Boot will play at the weekend. He is a very decent keeper but his one issue is that he is only about 6 stone wet through. He needs to be put on a diet of Wrights Pies and Guinness to build up his physique. I'll be perfectly happy to see him in the team on Saturday though.

 

He wont be able to get either of those at Vale Park apparently! He will have to go to the wrights pie shop then pop into saggers for a daily training routine until he gets to the weight of a fully grown human being!

Good luck on Saturday should he play- in whatever position! I would hope that any of the keepers available are good enough to play for the first team should they be needed to.

Strange thing to say after just 21 posts and with the goalkeeping position wide a crucial factor in Saturdays match. Definitely more to say on this one - it is a very important issue.

Guys ,I saw Booty play for Macc against Altricham and he looked very assured, plus while he's been at Macc he was getting coached by John Falin and BIlly Gorton and you won't get better coaching than that,I'm confident Booty will be fine if he's required to play

I'm sure Brown will have kept tags on Boot and if he is confident that he can do the job between the sticks then that's OK by me.

 

Weather looks awful here in Penkridge so assume Potteries too having it's share of snow/ice/rain? Possibility be that we have to cancel Saturday in which case we have another week to prepare injured players and/or source new recruitments? Don't think that would be bad thing for Vale.

Quite the norm in pre-sub days for goalies, strap up arm injuries and then play on the wing to occupy a defender.
