Plymouths Green Army.

I can only assume that those who think our away support is better than Plymouth's have never seen a map.

Can't really defend the distances only the crowd ratios.Perhaps these kind of trips to PL grounds for the 'Green Army' are a bit of a novelty?

Along with QPR they hold the record(48 times)for being eliminated at the FA Cup 3rd round stage.

Still it's a great result for them and I wish them all the best in the replay.

Good luck to Plymouth but I don't really see what all the fuss is about regarding their away support.Unless there's ticket restrictions they've taken less than their average gate which is over 9,000.I'm sure we would take at least 6,000,our away support is magnificent compared to our home crowd numbers.

I wish Plymouth all the best in the replay and it's at times like this that you want a ground like theirs at Home Park that holds over 17,000,rather than some Lego stadium in Kidsgrove the holds only 10k.

And the last time we got anywhere close to 20k at home was....? My bet would be the Everton game, over 20 years ago. So you're saying it worth having a large, expensive-to- maintain stadium that's barely 20% full in most home games for a 1in 20 year event???

No.

I'm looking forward not backwards.

I bet Burton and Bournemouth wish they'd got our capacity?

Why don't the FA apply the same rule to the FA Cup as they do to the Checkatrade trophy which they've forced their way into - you have to play at least six of the team from you last or next match?

Because the ******* ***** are big shot Premier League teams that play by completely different rules to lower league teams to suit themselves.

You're right about our lack of attendances, but where is the evidence that Vale Park is "expensive to maintain"? True, there is work to be done, but I would hazard a guess that a lot of the "maintenance" is to the field itself.

On the other hand, there is some evidence that a new stadium stimulates interest and improved gates. It's a gamble, but I wonder if Smurf has considered the potential in Middleport, where grants are being touted around right now? What's the cost of a feasibility study?
