Did Dodds Score?

Watching those highlights has just brought back the disbelief I felt at full time that we'd not won the game. That clearance off the line is incredible. I assumed at the time that an arm or hand must have been involved but he managed to bend his neck around brilliantly to clear it off the line.

Unsung player of the game was Williamson. Great strength to lay off to Doddsy for his goal, and very unlucky after working hard to make the opening to hit the post. Some tidy finishes all round. Really entertaining match that should have ended with points for the Vale.

Watched the highlights on the afcwimbledon.tv site and was really impressed with Doddsys goal, they had a camera behind him so you could see the line of the shot. There were 7 Wimbledon players in the box and he missed all of them and curved it into the net, superb! I think he has a real eye for goal, not many of his attempts on goal are off target. They usually either go in or are blocked or saved.

My mate who is a **** fan asked me who was the lad who scored the first goal. He said he won't be at vale long if he can score like that!!

That's the Dodds enigma, clearly one of the best, if not the best finisher at the club. The problem is, he suits a formation which doesn't suit the rest of the team, in my opinion of course. He thinks his best position is the "Gerrard" role, or the number 10 position. He's certainly a player I think, who needs to have a team bulit around him. Unfortunately, finances and the fact we are in Division 4 and a rigid 442 is what will get you out of this league, along with hard work, fitness and a 20 goal a season striker, make this impossible. It's a shame for Dodds, as I don't think he shines in a 442 particularly, which is no fault of his own. I think he'd actually do better for a team in the league above, who played to his strengths.

Not according to the ref and liner

Watching videos on Youtube it seems the ball smashes down bang on the line although it could in reality have been either side with the angle and blurred images making it hard to tell, however it was hit so hard I dont think even the Liner could have known for certain!
