Good first half. So far, what I would say the type of play we need away to grind out results, namely closing down, keeping men behind the ball, and trying to hit on the counter (though we're still too slow IMHO in getting the ball forward for the counter). Think grant is playing well, as are hart, amoros and the defence as a whole. Keep it up vale!

Good so far but think foley needs to wake up. For me him purkiss and jones have struggled. Rest have looked really solid especially the two centre backs and centre mids.

Not bad. Given a goal by Mr Lewington (thank-you).

 

You can see the passing game developing, but we have a habbit of making shorter and shorter passes until we are right on top of each other and inevitably lose it.

 

Grant still holds on to it too long in front of the defence and still loses it far too often. I am not a long ball proponent, but there are times when you just need to put your foot through it.

 

I suppose plenty of pressure 2nd half from the Dons... let's see how we stand up.

Pretty good first half but a bit worried we are letting them come on to us. Sooner or later they're going to create chances as they did when Lewington hit the post. Playing it out of your own penalty is not something we should be doing! Thought Grant has been outstanding so far, with Amoros, Streete, Hart and Alnwick (who's made two good saves) all playing well. Patto has also put in a good shift. Fingers crossed for the second half.

It's pretty obvious that Purkiss can't tackle nor pass. Not sure what he brings to the team? By far the weakest player on the pitch

Purkiss is in the team because he was one of the best players of last season! I don't think anyone expected him to be as off-form as he is, this time round...but there is still time for him to purk up...as it were!! :)

Amoros has typified our performance today. Never stopped running and closing down. You can see how well organised we've been defensively today, with all players tracking their man to a tee.

weve won at a stadium we havent won at before, which obviously can be a hard place to go, weve kept a clean sheet, and won on the t.v. cant really think of many better sundays?
