So why did Perry leave?

Perry Deakin is getting brownie points for his work at Vale. What I can't understand is why he is here. His CV shows he has had spells in commercial roles at Wolves, Birmingham, Derby (all bigger clubs than Vale) and also at a First Class Cricket County, Northants CCC. So why, if he is such a successful guy in his field, has he left jobs at high profile clubs like those and ended up walking into a League Two club in turmoil? It doesn't make sense to me. Can anyone explain, please?

Jacko, I spent 17 years in a commercial role, on the outside it doesnt add up at all.

This sounds supiciously like a fishing trip to me (ie) we don't like Deakin and can we dig up up some dirt on him, particularly as someone has had the audacity to say he's doing a good job and that can't be true because he's board appointment. The guy is doing OK and is a decided improvement on whats gone before. Not bothered how he came to our door - just glad he did. Please don't let us desend into "Perry Bashing" Getting quite fed up of all the negativity tbh

It's not Perry bashing at all. I'm concerned that he doesn't seem to stay anywhere very long so if he does a decent job he'll be off in five minutes. We need a bit of stability in that area.

Mr Deakin has a lot of questions to answer. He doesn't stay anywhere for very long.Despite Deakin saying on sunday that' Lemon Zest' was run by a couple of his pals he did in fact represent the company in a court case whilst he was employed by Birmingham City. He was then asked to leave and given a good reference by Karen Brady. He then worked at Derby for a very short time. Would you employ anyone with this background?I know Bratt now regrets the decision. Another V2001 **** up!!
