Very disappointing gate considering there were a few more at Crewe who had struggled in the league for 3 seasons and were relegated.

but they played pompey, who are known for decent followings, who took around 1,200 i think, where as southend brought a lowly 250? would of been different if they had played stevenage at home.

It was a poor gate but Southend's following was as bad as it gets. Having said that with work I think I will only be able to get to about 6 home fixtures this season on Saturdays.

I don't know too many fans apart from those who are retired that can commit to a season ticket. Even a decade ago few seemed to work that much at weekends.

My last full season ticket year was 2006/07 when I was a student.

same, when i was in college, but now bcoz of work, working nights, it's hard for me to go to every game, then you get the winter issues where games are called off and i cant afford to book tuesdays nights as holiday when i need the time of over easter, augaust and october.

At first I thought this thread was going to be a dig at stay away fans, was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't.

Sadly this season due to health and financial reasons I'm not going to make many games but will be there in spirit week in week out.

I've got a ST and work full time. Work Monday to Friday so not an issue. I think your view on only retired people having a ST maybe a little bias due to the demographic you know?

Tuesday games not a problem, Saturday's this season are going to be problematic without using holidays. This goes for maybe 10 to 15 people who i work with. I think the change in working patterns is a leading reason for the fall in attendances saturdays are not a given anymore.
