What current strikers do we have that are better than Pope ? The owner has got lots of bodies in but all unproven so better to go for quality than quantity.

That is a very good point. Pope is nailed on for 100% effort and you never lose your ability to head the ball and tom was the best header of a ball I have ever seen play for Port Vale.

Popes got more goals in 1 season, than the 4 strikers we currently have got in total. Pope wouldn't come back while Smurfs there anyway, so this thread is pointless, but he could be a good coach for the 4 strikers we currently do have. Regardless what people think of Pope, but he'll still guarantee you 10-15 goals a season., which by looking at 4 strikers we currently got, we could do with.

Or if you are comparing Popes last season for us against AJ's first, identical. I didn't realise it was the Chairman's decision to decide who we want to keep etc, normally a manager does that. He may have been proven right, however, the manner in how he conducted his business in the media (he still spoke to the Sentinel then) was disgusting.
