On a side note, we were link in the press to Stephen Constantine as a manager before we took on Bruno (he was the international manager). Smurf's Twitter description of the new head of recruitment very much fits his in with it being Constantine. He's got a Twitter account and has been tweeting about being in Norway for the last week...I wonder if he is the one who has scouted and spotting him

 

Interesting. Constantine is currently the manager of India - and Smurthwaite claimed a few months back that we could have signed 2 India internationals, but the defeat to Exeter scuppered that, so maybe Constantine was behind those proposed deals too?

I would say him living in Norway gives him a better idea of the level this lad was playing at than those of us who still live in Blighty. I lived in Canada for a short while so if we were rumoured to be signing a Canadian player, I might be able to give more of.an insight to the standard he played at. Does that make me an expert in Canadian football (or soccer as they call it) no but through my experience it makes me slightly more knowledgeable than others

Smurf basically described the new head of recruitment as "bald and smoking 40 a day" now I'm not sure of his smoking habits, but he's bald as a shuttlecock. That combined with the link in the Indian press and the fact that smurf said he'd been chasing the international manger ever since Adams left suggests to me that he's the man
