Premiership 16/17 Season

Recommended Posts

I think Matip is going to be a wery important player for Liverpool next season. He is an ballplaying defender, with him and the defensive midfielders. Liverpool wil roll the ball at the back without losing it. That eil lure the opposition higher on the pitch. And rest the rest of the players from the effort to win the ball back, lost by a bad pass from defense. It will give more room for the offensive players to challenge space.

He's much better suited to Klopp's way of playing than the likes of Skrtel was, and Sakho is. Both him and Klavan will surprise a few people this season I think.

City and Utd have way too much for Liverpool and Chelsea haven't even started recruiting properly yet. For me, all three also have vastly superior managers to Klopp too; how long will it be before he quits because of Pep- again!?!

Behave! What Klopp achieved at Dortmund at the very least matches anything the likes of Guardiola and Conte have done.

The pre-season tournaments are done for exposure and commercial reasons lets not kid ourselves here. Clubs flying to America/Australia etc playing in 35 degree heat in different time zones do not do it for the benefit of the team that's patently obvious. But clubs do go to places like Austria for a weeks training camp as the facilities/weather/altitude etc. are condusive to a real good pre-season workout.

I genuinely couldn't care less if we lost every game, there is no correlation between pre-season results and what happens after that in my experience watching Stoke........

Each to their own. If Vale lost all of there pre-season games and didn't perform I myself would head into the season with zero confidence, belief or optimism for the upcoming campaign.

Wouldn't it depend on who we had lost to? if we'd played Fegg Hayes, Ball Green Working Mens Club and the Leopard Second Xi and lost them all then fair enough..be worried. But if we'd played West Ham, Leicester and Liverpool and lost them all? Well maybe not Liverpool ;)

Pure commercialism, the organisers were not happy that they had to include Leicester this year, but what does the USA know about football with a round ball?

Is that the same USA that have never been beaten by England in 'Official' competitions :whistling:
Hi, my jibe was not against the players, but against the organisers who prefer closed shops with no promotion or relegation. I well remember hearing the result on the radio, a competition we entered for the first time since our superiority was unquestioned before, a far bigger shock than our performance against Iceland. Excuse the wander off topic.

I know it was Fosse - I was being a tad silly. No offence meant Bon'Ami

Closed shops is spot on.The PL will soon become one with the ever increasing parachute payments.I also see that the two Milan clubs who now have Chinese owners will be joining Real Madrid and Barcelona in pushing for CL games to be played outside Europe to increase their TV money.
