Thursday's new signings

What exactly are we expecting?

 

A couple on loan from Monaco is it? A striker for whom we've paid a fee? Is he English or foreign? The two Portuguese lads mentioned the other day (a left back and midfielder)?

Any other clues?

Three English lads would make eight wouldn't it?

 

But I suppose if we are hoping for 8 we'll probably get 4-5.

I've lost track.

 

I think in among the many tweets from NS it seemed to suggest that there were two loanees from Monaco who were supposed to be announced the same day as Knops. But their flight was delayed and they will now be announced today along with some other signings. So, I suspect it may be four today, three tomorrow and one on Saturday *

 

* That's because NS has said there will be signings announced today and Friday plus one more on Saturday.

Two of them will be yates and birchell plus campion has Johnson signed so he can go to Gateshead on loan for the season

1. Players unable to get flights (haven't they heard of advance bookings) as planes were full up with England fans returning early from Euro 2016

2. Inability to read Dutch doctor's notes adding a delay

 

What will we get today?

 

I'm going for - signing delayed because the broadband in Burslem is down/the fax machine has blown a fuse/someone spilt tea on the contract.

 

Any other suggestions...

I don't think we'll have heard of most of the new signings.

 

I'd still like to have a strong core of British players. No wonder the national team is suffering so much if the foreign influx is filtering down to League One level.

 

I bought my season ticket about a month again, and will support whoever pulls on the shirt.

I'll be amazed if we have heard of any. After all, who had heard of any of our previous European signings before we signed them. It doesn't offer an insight into whether they are any good or not, but given Falcao is the only Monaco player I have heard of (unless Berbatov still plays for them) the odds are I won't have heard of those 2 for a start.
