Port Vale Chairman Norman Smurthwaite has tweeted that two of the three shortlisted candidates are effectively out of contention and he is interviewing two more people. Has Andoh signed or not???

Well he seems to suggest that no player has signed but Andoh will be the only one that they will enter further discussions with. In other words, I guess he feels Andoh is the only one worth potentially discussing an improved offer with (especially as there's now a fair bit of money to play with following the other exits).

I'm not sure if his tweet covers youth players like Billy Reeves and Dan Turner. Perhaps he's only referring to senior players?

So the portugese one is still in the running but he's weighing up the risk. And it looks like he ruled out on twitter that it was Morais so that means it could be that Bruno Ribeiro which isn't the most impressive appointment. Who could the championship contenders be? Fatty evans? Pearce? Mcdermott?

Candidate 3 l interviewed on Wednesday and now need to learn how special the relationship in relality will work
Sounds like he's trying to work out just what, if any, help\links the Portuguese guy will be able to get from Mourinho & Man Utd.

As for the 2 ex-Championship managers, maybe Cotterill & Adkins, who have just missed out on the Bolton job, and Charlton before that? Doubtful, but we can hope!

Still think Adkins is the preferred choice. I would suggest that Smurf adding him on Twitter was a precursor to that but I believe Smurf wanted to avoid a bidding war by letting him go ahead and speak to other clubs, basically giving him the job by June 21st if those other applications are not successful.

I notice he says he only offered small contracts because he wanted rid of the players after Exeter except for Dodds, including Page. Says the budget will now be back to what Adams had first Season in L1

isnt that a bigger budget? cant see how thats bad, players as horrendous as mcgivern have gone, so i dont see the problem.

Yeah a bigger budget but doesn't necessarily guarantee any better players. All depends on the new manager.
