Quiet because there is no good news to given at this particular moment.

When there is something of importance to share such as an appointment of a manager, a number of players signing contracts, or hopefully a purchaser of the club, we may be informed.

In short give us some positive signs instead of keeping us in the dark.Nothing from the club since Pagey leaving is very poor PR to the folks that are the lifeline of the club.

I agree with you jeff.

We've gone from making PR gaffs galore to saying nowt.

You have to communicate frequently and positively with fans if you want to create a bond.

Page's departure was given no more prominence on the main site than a half term soccer school. Ridiculous.

Even something like - don't worry folks, we're chasing the best manager we can find and in view of that we'll extend the ticket deadline to .....

It would be better than nothing. You have to be communicative and friendly if you want fans to buy tickets. Silence is golden only in the world of the Tremeloes.

I don't think he is only referring to the new manager but the last few weeks and months. Ironically the only positivity came from Page!

id imagine they are in negotiations with another club

I tend to agree. Obviously it would be nice to have an update but if they need to do this quietly and they get the right man then that's fine by me.

As TheSage says, I think the wise thing to do would be to extend the season ticket deadline in view of this unexpected event.

Because he wants to know the quality of the product he's paying for so he can evaluate if he thinks that product is worth the money, he may have had one last season but doesn't mean with a reduced budget has gonna get the same quality.

There should always be news coming out of the club, it should always be measured and progressive. eg

Rob page, the manager of port vale, has left the club to take up a position with ....... In his time at vale he has blah blah blah... we wish him well.

The search is on for a manager to replace rob page, we are making progress but we need to find the best man for the job blah blah blah....

Applications have been received for the vacant managers position which will blah blah blah

and so on until news is definite......

Nothing is really being said that we dont know or can guess at but it keeps fans in the loop and draws them back to view again and again.

Its not rocket science but it makes fans feel part of the club

I think extending the season ticket deadline is an excellent idea. I'm going to nick your idea for a front page blog post.
