I'm annoyed that we gave him his chance in management, and he's left us with a joke of a retained list, but he's a limited manager tactically who talks the talk, and comes across very well, but is far too loyal and timid to make a truly good manager. Northampton can look forward to tactical stubbornness, no subs prior to the 60th minute regardless of how the game is going, but a genuinely nice and intelligent manager.

 

He may be a bit of an idiot but I wouldn't mind Warnock. Did a decent job at Rotherham and has been there and done it all. Might be a bit of another Adams-like appointment but our squad needs sorting.

He'd be a massive upgrade. Worked wonders at Scunny and Southampton but has struggled of late, though I saw some Blades fans claim he'd been hard done by the board at Brammall Lane.

 

If he's our next manager I'd be very optimistic.

Agree fully with Hagrid who has summed it up well imo.

I really don't feel gutted at all in someways completely the opposite. Only surprise is the timing with the retained list and club wise it's honestly change for sixpence in my eyes, I don't see Northampton as I bigger club than us(their gates over recent years would back that up, despite them having been in the top flight in their history they've not been above league 1 for donkeys years!) but I'm guessing they've probably offered him a bit more money and a better budget.

 

Good luck to the bloke(apart from against Vale in the future) but I honestly think he's more than replaceable

Can't say I'm too arsed. Nice of him to dish out the poor retained list and leave. No loyalty in football, but why would he stay anyway? Be very interesting as to who will replace him.
