Euro 2016

Wales have done superbly, and I really like Chris Coleman. But lets not forget that they play under far less pressure than our players do. Nobody expects anything from many of their players such as Gunter, Williams and Robson-Kanu, so they can go out and just enjoy themselves. Our players play like they have the weight of the world on there shoulders, and it's been this way for a long, long time.
But why should they have the weight of expectation on their shoulders, when did we last win anything? All we want is a manager who can prepare a team mentally as well as tactically, we surely have enough players to compete with all but the top teams.

England have players who, art club level at least, are amongst the best around. Harry Kane was supposed to be a golden boot candidate while the likes of Alli were supposed to light up the tournament, as he did the Premier League last season in many games. Playing with pressure and expectation obviously has a massive effect on the England side mentally, and it needs to be sorted somehow. In the 2nd half against Iceland the players had an absolute brain freeze and even passing the ball to each other became a difficult task. Wales, Bale apart, play with freedom and look like they enjoy it, being the underdogs and not really expected to perform consistently to a high standard.

But were Wales changed about as much as England, they have a settled style and the team bonding maybe due to having a smaller group to choose from. Plenty for the new manager to sort out, my worry is how will the manager be picked, by experts (Recruitment team) or by FA officials?

Didn't do us much good though did it, far better to have topped the group. Would be looking forward to the Final surely. Instead we went into the difficult half of the draw.

EPL football is different from tournament football, England still haven't figured out how to go from the former to the latter.

But we never got to play France and Germany, whereas Portugal would have been an easier game.

I really don't think England could give Portugal a good game, Portugal are hard to beat and the thought of Ronaldo against a combination of unfit, tired, demotivated and frankly very average players like Deli Alli, Sturridge, Sterling, even Rooney was pathetic against Iceland, passes astray by the shedload.

Squad players who are really seriously lacking in talent like Lallana and Henderson don't help much, and I am amazed the manager gets the blame with such limited resources of talent.

One of the biggest problems was over-confidence, winning all the games in a laughable group, which did no favours at all, looking back those groups were so unbalanced - in Icelands group they had Czech republic, Turkey and Holland - Engfland got San Marino, Lithuania and only Switzerland as a half-decent opposition. It's pretty much the same for the next World Cup.

But those who post that England have great players are just setting themselves up for more heartache with this bunch, regardless of the new manager.

Iceland need snookers.

Just be thankful they beat England - I dread to think what a France team playing like that would have done to almost-Championship standard players like Deli Alli, Sterling, Henderson and the like.

It was bad enough to lose 2-1 to Iceland, but if France had scored 6 or 7 against England it wouldn't have been much fun.

Proves the point of my previous post about just how ineffective this current bunch of England players are, we've just seen how Iceland really have been running on bravery up to now, but have been found out tonight - they still deserve massive congratulation, but France have been really classy so far tonight.

There's still 45 minutes to go though....... final predictions anyone? Im going for 6-1.
