Euro 2016

Bloody typical.

It always goes pear shaped and the hapless manager and useless players have yet again let us down. It ALWAYS happens. We are still light years away from good teams. We can't even pass the damn ball tonight. Absolutely shocking but it's really no surprise.

How the hell did Kane score all those goals last year? He was terrible in all the games.

Have we ever given away possession so cheaply? It was a total embarrassment.

Perhaps better not to bother entering these tournaments. We are simply ****.

It would be interesting to see the stats of misplaced passes across the England team in this tournament. Rooney would surely top it by a mile. Roy Hodgson was too faithful to him again tonight, he could have come off any time after the penalty as he was totally ineffective.

Once again, Rooney fails on the big stage. What a surprise.

Never seen a showing as bad as that. Thought rose and walker were ok and at least put effort in along with sterling but we were dreadful. Man of the match was Rashford who showed every england player up.

Moving forward we need to replace Joe Hart in nets. He has proven in this tournament that he is not a world class keeper as some think and Ive said for a while that Forster is the better keeper. Awful save against Bale and even worse tonight.

Right and left backs were are fine, both Rose and Walker performed very well and were our most potent attacking threats.

Smalling is a decent player as is Cahill but think we should move on from him now.

Dier is our best player and extremely key to the side.

Wilshire should be knowhere near the 11 especially after so long on the sidelines.

Rooney played ok but too many sideways passes and lets be honest his showing tonight was embarrassing.

Alli very bad tournament, awful tonight.

Kane as above, his performance was the stuff nightmares are made off.

Sterling, poor but at least put effort in.

Sturridge, as above but played out of position again.

The tactics tonight were once again woeful, why was sturridge out on the wing again? He is a striker either pick him there or not at all. He spent more time tracking back and making poor passes than actually having the ball in dangerous areas.

Why bring Vardy on and play long balls?

Why is Rashford sat on the bench until the 85th minute?

Kane back on set pieces again?

Im embarrassed by that performance and Im so happy hes resigned (would have been sacked anyway). I still think this team has potential with the right man in charge.

One that plays players in the correct position and actually selects his strongest squad. Drinkwater, Noble and Carrol all should have been there, Townsend as well if hes having to play sturridge out on the wing.

Shocking performance, shocking night. No doubt we will batter sides again in these next games in the lead up to the world cup.

You just watch the FA appoint Southgate, on the basis that he's won an under-21 tournament - he's a poor manager (proved that at Middlesbrough), but because he's a thoroughly pleasant chap (aka a "yes man") he will be right up the FA and Trevor bleedin' Brooking's street.

Other English options are very limited :-

Howe - too young\early for him

Pardew & Allardyce - completely inadequate choices for this level

Even foreigner options don't particularly exist, as the best ones are all now in club jobs.

The only remaining option for me is Redknapp, but the FA wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

BREXIT from the European Cup!!

England 1 Iceland 2

That was a DISGRACEFUL performance by England!

Wot a waste of an evening watching TV !!

Joe Hart let in a really soft goal

Rooney was crap, Kane was crap, Sterling was crap, Sturridge was crap.

An Overated, Overpaid, bunch

managed by 'Eddie Izzards mother'

- Roy Hodgeson (Overated, Overpaid on £3.9 Million a year ??)

Surprisingly he has resigned!! (Before he was Sacked)

The worst performance I've seen from an England side against a spirited but ultimately poor footballing nation.

Roy Hodgson may be a nice bloke but when he brings on Jack Wilshere at half-time when nobody else in the entire nation would have made the same decision, and brings Rashford on with 5 minutes to go, I'm afraid he deserves everything he gets. Absolute **** take from a clueless manager truly out of his depth this evening and his players that buckle mentally under the slightest bit of pressure.

Hart 2

Walker 6

Cahill 5

Smalling 4

Rose 6

Dier 5

Rooney 1

Alli 3

Sterling 5

Sturridge 3

Kane 1

Wilshere 3

Vardy 6

Rashford 7

As I don't want the England fans to be subjected to Russian hooliganism on a mega scale in 2018, I'd appoint Allardyce.

IF we had beaten Iceland then lost to France I could have accepted that, but ruddy Iceland, there ar'nt even any professional football teams in Iceland.
Magnificent effort, they learned the game abroad in many different countries, had a plan, the rest will be remembered in both countries for a long time. How many English players test themselves in foreign leagues?

They don't need to test themselves in foreign leagues, the mega bucks are right here in England.

Maybe the brexit vote might go some way to address this.

Shambles absolute shambles. Why wait so late to take off Rooney for Rasford?Shocking Rooney(as well as others) was shocking.

If (if) England had managed to win that game.Would Woys already written resignation letter have stayed in his pocket and ripped up later to then be descretly disposed of into a bin later.
