I thought Ukraine were better than Russia, if limited.

And remember, they were playing the world champions, Germany, not the perennial over-paid underachievers called England.

Currently, on what we've seen, Germany and France are the best two sides. I sincerely hope I'm mistaken and England win it but I don't thibnk we are remotely in their class when we've got the ball. The Germans in particular are so smooth and fluent - like a well oiled Mercedes!

An improvement on a VW then?

Thoroughly deserved win and it would have been much more comfortable had Hodgson picked the correct 11. Kane is clearly out of sorts and leggy while Sterling should be nowhere near the squad never mind starting games after his dog **** season at City. Some really good individual performances again from Walker and Dier, decent contributions from the likes of Rooney and Lallana, and the subs obviously made a massive difference in the end. Vardy has to start in place of Kane and Sturridge should come in for Sterling for the next game against Slovakia, but would anyone be surprised if Hodgson picks the exact same 11?

Hart 5

Walker 8

Smalling 7

Cahill 7

Rose 6

Dier 7

Rooney 7

Alli 7

Lallana 7 (first half was our best player before fading as usual)

Sterling 3

Kane 6

Subs:

Vardy 7

Sturridge 8

Rashford 7

Pretty much spot on with those marks Beechyla.I thought Walker had a great game.

Rooney completed more passes than Bale, Ramsey and Allen put together. Bale got lucky with his goal for which Hart should be given an assist. Bale spent more time in his own penalty area than England's. He's been left with a huge dollop of egg on hs face.

Skin of the teeth job by England, need a massive improvement to do well if we reach the KO phase. Too many England players appear lacking in confidence or look tired. Why Townsend isn't in the squad is crazy with out of form Sterling being the only forward player available to give width.

Who so pessimistic? We've got 4 points against two fairly decent sides, been the better team against both by a distance and also without everybody firing. Harry Kane hasn't turned up yet but if England stay in the competition for a while you would like to think that he will come good at some point as he's too good a player. There's much more to come from the likes of Alli too. France were poor against Albania until the last 5 minutes or so and Germany looked very ordinary against Poland this evening. There's no team to really fear going by performances yet and for me England will cause problems for any side - even more so if the correct 11 our picked by the manager!

We're practically in the knockout stage anyway due to third place rules so leas of the doom and gloom please. And we still can top the group with a win which we are capable of doing. If we win the group and Northern Ireland come third there's a chance of us meeting them in the last 16.

YEESSSSS!!!!!

Sturridge has got Hodgson and Hart out of jail there! Absolutely shocking goalkeeping for their goal.

Sterling's performance was disgraceful - he did what you wouldn't think was possible, by hiding in full view on a football pitch. He stuck as close to his marker as possible as the first-half went on, so that the ball wouldn't be given to him and he wouldn't have to get involved. Don't think we'll see him on the pitch again this tournament.

Rashford had a good cameo when he came on, and Dier was again impressive. Just as well we've got him in front of those centre-backs, who still don't inspire confidence IMO. How much stamina has Walker got to keep bombing up that right-hand side?! Incredible!

I maintain my pre-tournament prediction that we'll make the Quarters and then get beaten by the first half-decent team we come up against, who will just cut through our weak defence.

But then, if Hodgson keeps chucking all of his forwards on the pitch maybe we'll keep sneaking through 2-1 or 3-2 or 4-3.....!!!

My feelings pretty much in a nutshell!

Walker, Rooney and Dier again very good.

Sterling is truly dreadful, I'd rather see Doddsy in an England shirt.

I'm not brimming with optimism because too many England players appear lacking in confidence or look tired which together with Hodgson's tactics and in-form players at home in Townsend and Carroll who could make a difference against a defensive set up. England looked good against Russia 'cause Russia were poor, England were dire and clueless first half against Wales and not much better second half until Sturridge's piece of magic, it says it all when the right wing back is player of the game.

Big decisions now for Hodgson, who does he go with up front?

The first decent team England play will beat us, truly hope I'm wrong but I don't see anything different in this England side to others who've gone out in nthe quarters or before in major tournaments.

I thought we were very good second half. It's not easy to break down sides who park the bus. I disagree on your last point, a lot of the bigger sides aren't having everything there own way either.

Germany drew with Poland

Spain win in last minute

Belgium lose 2-0

France win last minute in both matches

Portugal drawing with Iceland.

In my opinion the so called favourites haven't had everything their own way either and I don't think they'd want to play us with our attacking threat.

Not too sure that's the case Bon'Ami. Given 3 teams qualify from each group I think the 'Big' teams are doing just enough to qualify without the need to be 'showing all their cards' - so to speak.
