Let's have another Irish tour. That weekend in Dublin/Bray was amazing.

Bray was one of my most enjoyable away games ever.Travelling to an away game by plane felt pretty special.The weather was blazing too.So I'm hoping for an Ireland trip again.

Regrettably I flew over and missed all that. However, the banter with the rival fans at the matches and in the pubs was great fun. I found myself staying in the same hotel as the Vale players and the continuous pestering for autographs was embarrassing..they wouldn't leave me alone ;)

I actually can't believe there's some people moaning about this.

 

Why would we choose to play 5-6 professional teams before the season has even kicked off? I can't see one benefit at all.

 

It's not like we had a terrible start either, we played our best football at the start of the season.

It is not a question only of whom we want to play but those who want to play us. Normally the early pre-seasons against local non-league teams are an opportunity to give the whole squad some match time. Actually last pre-season was rather costly with long term injuries to Neal, O'Connor and Inniss. Most lower league clubs try to arrange one or two home games against higher opposition, but there is often then a question about team selection by the opposition.
