Wigan v Gillingham

You can see quite clearly why Gillingham already have 50 points and an abundance of goals from all around the park.

Man for man they are no better than us.

However they have a manager who sets his stall out to win football matches, home or away, whatever the opposition.

When they get the ball they do something with it.

Watching it with envy and really annoying as our manager says we are punching above our weight.

What i would give for a manager with the mentality of a Justin Edinburgh.

And we would have beaten them were it not for a silly back pass.

I know there is still virtually half a season still to go, potentially there is only 1 play off spot left, we are 11 points behind Wigan in 5th and the top 4 are 14 - 18 points in front of us.

We are going have to go on a really good run second half of the season to contend, I can't help but think the season will be left with nothing much to play in the last month or so.

I don't like Gillingham at all, and was ecstatic with Wigan for coming back from 0-2 to beat them late in injury time which must left the Gills green and gutted. A wonderful and massive win from the better team. Wigan - comeback kings - but Vale were not overawes by either of them and are really not so far off being as good a side.

Im not comparing Vale to the pair of them over 90 minutes against them.

Merely pointing out what may have been ifwe had a manager who didnt **** his pants every time we played away from home.

The Gills will be a different side when Bradley Dack goes to Reading, his goals from midfield will be hard to replace.

Yes I agree!I was really impressed with him at the Vale game. Also agree with Spunkers that we MUST change the negative mindset from the Vale coaching staff recently and have a go at teams .

Justin Edinburghs tactics cost the gills top spot. Instead of settling for a point he continued to attack and it massively back fired. The introduction of Loft was also pivotal, yes he crossed well for the second goal, but lost possession every time he had the ball. Edinburghs no genius.
