The Sentinel 8/12/15 quotes the Torquay Herald Express interview with Smurf on his weekend visit to Torquay to check on Vale loan players.

Since when have you ever heard an owner going to a tin pot ground to look at (sorry check out) one of his clubs loan players. Yes Vale were in the area and Yes Smurf would be sampling Devons delightful hospitality. But that!!! I fear not. Nice excuse to show your face in public and give a plausible excuse.

If that had been the case I'm sure you would have seen some member of Vales coaching staff alongside.

I wonder if anyone within Vales staff new he'd gone to Torquay?

No neither do I.

I've started a new thread as this WILL be a hot topic.

Before I start all facts are true and have been verified.

It was rumoured Smurf was at the Torquay game on Saturday to discuss a proposed take over.

The fact is he was there but he told them he was no longer interested. Apparently he's been in "discussions" for a number of weeks and has been negotiating with shareholders to buy blocks of shares. He wanted to take total control of the club but individual shareholders were unwilling to sell, he has therefore told them he's no longer interested.

He's after buying a club on the cheap again and no doubt this is all part of his tactics.

This information has come from a very reputable source and I've been told there's a piece on it in the local rag (Herald Express). When it is out I'll publish a link.:ninja:

Well as you have started this with enough holes to be a cullender this was the position

I was approached in May by a group seeking finance to buy Club not as an owner as you suggest

The current Board purchased the Club and that it it really other than a couple of loan players and some advice recently

So after the FA stopped his interest he moved forward with an attempt to buy shares?... interesting

He's now saying he's pulled out. obviously he was testing the water because he doesn't want a few he wants all the shares and when he discovered they wouldn't sell he's announced that he's no longer interested.

All part of the game, Torquay shareholders will now be against one another because the club is really in the mire big time. So Smurf will wait for his opportunity, after he's sold Vale of course.

How long can Torquay wait?

How long can Torquay wait?

Not long, the boat is almost submerged. They've been suffering for years and they've got big money and relied on bale outs from the Bristows until they had enough and gave, yes gave the club away, wiping Millions of debt off.

They've had no one in charge who've had any idea business wise for donkeys years. It's such a shame.

someone with an ounce of business acumen would turn it around, no doubt some observers have noted this.

Just a quick response. You stated "with enough holes to be a cullender", what you didn't say was that my facts are incorrect. Are my facts incorrect Mr Smurthwaite?

Do you not feel the stress of 1 Club is enough

TUFC do not own their ground so no interest to me personally

Interesting Smurf, considering you bought PVFC which owned it's ground, and then separated it from the club into your ownership.

A lot of Vale fans are extremely worried at this moment in time Norman. You know what we've been through as a set of supporters. Do you care?
