AJ and Dodds are both clever footballers. I thought in pre-season that it looked like they linked up well, and a partnership was blossoming. I think the worry for some was that they were too similar, but when they're on their game, the fluidity between them, and the reading of each other and what they are going to do is there to be seen. Throw Moore into the mix, and earlier in the season, I thought the best football we played was when those three were on the pitch playing to the maximum of their ability. They're league one players and obviously it's not going to click every week. But it is nice to have a Plan A(J) and a Plan U(che).

He's finding the pockets of space that goalscorers have a knack of getting themselves into. Last nights goal was a prime example, just seemed to pop up in a really obvious space with no-one marking him.

I always said AJ was a good player he was superb against us every time we played against crewe he used to make powell look a better player. and now hes getting his confidence back we are seeing the real AJ.

A slice of humble pie for me too atm and long may it continue. I wasn't sure the lad could make a striker but the last few games have shown he does have it in him to score to add to the rest of his game which is technically very good(as it is with a lot of the lad who come through at Crewe!)

I keep saying it to people as well. His 2nd goal at Maidenhead showed a lot of awareness to get himself positioned right, knowing that the ball was likely to come back across goal. That, aside from anything else has pleasantly surprised me as I didn't think he had that 'right place, right time' knack that a lot of regular goalscorers have.

 

He's doing great and he's looking dangerous. You can see the lad has confidence in his ability now. Maybe that's all he needed as all I've ever heard off Crwho fans is how much potential they thought he had to be a very good player. Perhaps a bit of praise again for Page, who picked him up in the summer and got him to where he is now.
