Was it last season he had that insect bite? It really must have affected quite badly as he seems a lot fitter now, his movement and awareness is sharper and he's stronger on the ball.

 

How much weight and strength did he lose last season?

 

A full pre-season is essential for him. WIth it, he may well have a good year for us!

Definatley... The jury is still out on haldane, playing at his best he can be a real asset

He was caught offside a few times on Saturday. I don't think that's too much of a worry though because he did break free once and presented Justin with an open goal.

 

If he's caught offside five times but sets up one goal then I can live with that.

 

He just needs someone other than Justin on the end of it!

Someone is asking if Utch is on drugs. I didn't think so till I read that Haldane might suddenly decide he's going to stay on his feet and become a decent right winger.

That's the problem with wingers FUA, no consistency. If we utialise the three of them when they are on form then we'll be on to a winner!

Judging someone on a couple of pre-season outings against dreadfully poor opposition is plain daft.

Haldane was dire last season and unless he improves he'll be on his bike sooner rather than later. No end product.

Its not only he cannot stay on his feet but his end product is very below par. I do feel we will see more of Louis Dodds out wide this season! He's looked one of the fittest through pre season so far!

With some hard work on improving that end product, he could eb a real player. He needs to apply himself though.

Haldane is a typical winger at fourth diivision level, he has no end product. I can't see that changing this season unless he has been sprinkled with some fairy dust!!!!

 

He can't stay on his feet as he is forever diving (cheating) and can't score goals.

Although I have not seen either friendly, if he has played well, you have to remember who the opponents were. Hardly ground breaking playing well against Stafford and Newcastle (no disrespect to them).

That's true. He's another with a big season ahead of him. If he starts doing it in the league for us then credit to him. If not, I'm sure this will be his final year.

Dodds, Haldane and Taylor were well below par last year, as were many other players though. They're far too inconsistent, a good pre-season with them all and they should be firing on all cylinders.

Haldane is not good enough... he runs blind alleys far too often... the only plus id give to haldane is that he does win free kicks!
