Independent Police review

Matthew Ellis should not waste tax payers money on an supposedly independent review. All he needs to do is open his eyes and not be duped by his favoured boys in blue.If he looked at the pictures and video from yesterday's game.He will then see total police incompetence.

He will also see fans of BOTH clubs looking to cause trouble. Your point about the police is a valid one but take your blinkers off melv......

Im not wearing blinkers TP.

You could tell by the way SOME of their fans were acting towards the end of the game that there was a good chance there was going to be trouble. As I walked down Hamil 4 police vans were parked by the fire station and they all put on the blues and twos and rushed up the Hamil. We have the fence across the car park as demanded by the police to help stop trouble (?)Now if the Police used some INTELLIGENCE all that they needed was about 4-5 police to form a line across the exit from the away fans car park on to Hamil road.Or park a police fan across the exit(straight after the game). Then just keep the away fans on that car park until it was clear on Hamil road for them to go.Any of them on coaches should have been made to ........ Get on their coach.Simple.This BS about fans can't be kept back seems very strange because we were kept back at WBA.You can see from the pictures and video that it is Sheffield fans wanting to get out and and cause trouble. The pictures and video need to be used to show just how wrong the police got it AGAIN.A police van / 4-5 police across the exit was all that was needed.

Taken from the Sentinel;

"Chief Inspector Amanda Davies, commander of the police operation, said: "It became apparent there were groups of people intent on being involved in criminal disorder"

Erm, it was apparent from about 3pm onwards to anyone with a couple of brain cells!

Does anyone ever get sacked from "Football Intelligence" duties, given they get it so wrong, so badly, so often?

If it was so apparent then why not move the police vans parked by the fire station onto the away fans car park?

There really is no need for all this talking, finger pointing and debating. All that needs to be done is keep away fans in the ground for 10 mins after the game, especially when it was apparent the would be disorder, simple.

Should establish why they go to great lengths to separate the fans before the game (fence / vehicle / dogs / horses/ officers), and then happily let everybody out together on Hamil Road at the end of the game, where decent people then have to run the gauntlet of those who want to fight. We are kept in on occasions, Wolves and WBA spring to mind, so why don't we do the same?

God when was the last time you saw a hoss at vale ?

Got an axe to grind Melv

No axe to grind.

A simple observation.Amanda says "It became apparent there were groups of people intent on being involved in criminal disorder"There were obvious signs from the actions of the Sheff Utd fans there was potential for trouble. This would have / should have been noticed by the police / stewards. What was the point in having the 4 police vans parked by the fire station?Absolutely pathetic place for them to be parked considering the situation.A lot more sensible for them to be on or by the away fans car park where they could have been put to better use.Put the vans on the away fans car park, use them to block off the exits and keep fans apart.Had this been done then maybe to two injured officers would not have been in the position that they were in when they got injured.Aparently Matthew Ellis was at the game yesterday.I wonder what his thoughts are.The police said it was apparent there could be trouble. So why sit back out of the way parked up by the fire station?

So we have photos and body cameras from the officers on duty, shouldn't be a problem identifying the culprits whether PVFC or SUFC. Next question what is going to be done about it. It is about time these morons were dealt with so true fans can enjoy a game of football and the club doesn't continually get financially penalised for their crimes. What is wrong with curfews...you now have evidence who these people are, so have them report to a cop shop on match days and spend a day doing some beneficial service. The sooner we can eliminate them the sooner we can move forward.

This cat and mouse game between the police and the club has worked out just as the police want it to this time so they can justify there O T T actions. But it could have been different had the police actually used a little bit of intelligence / common sense.

And if there had been Police vans and Police dogs in abundance and nothing had happened, then you would have been in your element complaining of overkill,it could be argued the Police gave the so called supporters a chance yesterday to show that they could behave and walk home like normal people, just like the England Rugby supporters did last night, unfortunately the knuckle dragging scum won the day.

But it would not have been overkill because the knuckle dragging scum as you call them were there intent on having a battle.Had the police been in place then they would have had a better chance of preventing the trouble before it started. All the signs were there that there was going to be trouble. The police even said the same.So then the police should have been by the away fans car park by the exits.
