Walsall are flourishing off the field too, earning as much from their prominent motorway advertising signs, flourishing Sunday market and pop concerts - Sir Elton John topped the bill at Bescot in June - as they do from their average Saturday afternoon gate receipts.

 

 

OK we dont have a motorway next to the ground but maybe we can offer to host Putin / Elton John talks :D

As we all know, the club had a thriving Friday market until the greedy, selfish and inconsiderate council stole it by transfering it to Burslem town centre where they eventually killed it off.

 

I feel sure that the chairman has plans for the ground(s) to be used to make money in the future.

No offence but I think we are looking for ways to make money that will make a difference to the club, not a 50p profit on a bag of chips.

 

Cant we hold concerts at VP or hire the pitchout preseason like stoke do and charge around 2200..100 quid each per player? Id pay a 1er yo grace the hallow turf pre season.

We will never be able to hold a concert (or even a drive in cinema ) for the fact that we are in a populated area (housing estate and Loren street houses). The council wouldn't allow it for that reason for a start. Totally different in the 1980's legislation wise.
