Sean Rigg

Sorry if this has been brought up somewhere else, but why isn't Rigg getting a look in?

 

Gannon has replaced him with a top quality signing, 6 foot 8, long throw expert, strong in the tackle, high pass completion rate, immense in the air, with a keen eye for goal.

 

Anyone reported this signing as a missing person? ;)

rigg might be due a game in place of Haldane, imo.

Rigg does struggle to beat his man but offers more end product. Haldane can run with the ball but how often does it come to anything? I'd play Rigg, we're struggling for goals and he can score a few from the wing.

Not a big fan of Rigg but the way Halane is playing, he can hardly do any worse.

when he is played in his right position,he is at this level a good player.

capable of scoring goals.

when played out of position,dropped on a whim and not allowed to establish his self in the side,realisticly what do we expect.

at the moment, Oxford, Northampton and Torquay are all after him on loan. Paul.

Come on Bede, why would we possibly want to play a player who is fast, direct, takes his man on, provides good quality crosses and scores over Haldane ;) I mean, spending half your life on your backside is clearly important in winning matches :rolleyes:

 

Of course Gannon would prefer to play the above described player, unfortunately that isn't Rigg!

 

Rob Taylor would be the closest but he's far to inconsistent.

Rigg has good feet and technical ability plus decent pace and can score goals.

Last season counting goals scored when out on loan before coming to Vale plus goals scored in the handfull of games Rigg got at Vale Rigg actually got himself 10 goals and has scored a few at the start of the season.

So Rigg/Dodds/Rob Taylor all got 10 goals last season while Haldane scores less than a full back and has absolutely no end product either.

Rigg is also young and a hard worker and along with Rob Taylor and certainly Dodds would be ideal for one of the attacking roles in that 4/2/3/1 formation.....wasn't the lad out with injury for a long spell after christmas.

I'd like to see Rigg given an extended run in the side, but I'm doubtful he will.

Just doesn't seem to be on Gannon's radar at all. Shame because i think he is a useful player and started the season very well.

Sean Rigg has been loud-mouthing against Gannon behind his back from what I have heard from close sources. They really hate each other, more so than any other player.

Rigg has under performed this season, hasn't shown what he did for us last season but he has got to be better than Haldane at the moment, and is a lot more likely to get us a goal.

Not a massive fan of his (admittedly I didn't see much of the first half of the season when he apparently was very good), but I'd certainly give him a look in at home. Tomorrow I'd play Haldane where his pace can relieve the pressure on a small pitch.
