Millwall will be buoyed by their victory on Saturday and will be looking to carry that form on against us. It won't be a stroll in the park by any means but we seem to have a certain resolve now within the team and if we can replicate Saturdays display then a play-off spot will be what the players, management and staff fully deserve.

Wigan's second half fight-back will be a timely reminder that no game is over until the ref blows the final whistle. However their willingness to go for the win (probably based on their previous weeks efforts at Chesterfield) instead of holding out for a point proved to be their downfall but I think we can expect a different game on Tuesday and we may need to be patient.

That said, our attacking momentum is a joy to behold and if we can keep another clean sheet I think the points will be ours.

There seems to be a lot of posters suggesting to the 'stay-away' fans to return to the fold and watch some of the most entertaining football on show for many a year - I personally would say this to them :

"Smurf gave Page a contract to manage this team, he gave him a budget to spend how he wished and he gave him the chance to bring in his own backroom staff.

Many, myself included were surprised by some of the players we kept. Many also questioned if Page had the experience required to take us forward, certainly given the apparent lack of frontmen.

I can honestly say that my initial fears for this season have been completely and utterly allayed and that this present team are a joy to behold, the quality of 'football' is excellent and the passing/movement/quality/skill etc. etc. they are displaying will certainly raise a few eyebrows within the division as the season progresses".

It isn't that often we play at home both sat and midweek and get 2 wins. Fingers crossed, but does anyone know the last time for 2 league matches at home same week, and how many times we've failed to do it too ?

The obvious one was the 6-1 (Cardiff) and 5-0 (Chesterfield) victories in the space of two days at the start of the 88/89 promotion season.

God love Gary Ford and Darren Beckford in that second game, we were scintillating.

Must have done it in our 12/13 promotion season and surely more recently in Rudge's time?

A win could see us up to 6th place ( I think) keep playing as we are and the crowds will return but it will be a slow process, it's a lot easier to loose them than to get them back.

Fully agree Conrad, the harm that Bratt, Deakin and co did to our club can not be over estimated. many people just gave up, found other things to do and will take an awful lot of tempting back. Without a season ticket football is an expensive hobby these days. I have also feared for a while now that with stoke in the Premier League, with all its hype, there is only one place that kids (in general) will want to go - especially with peer pressure at school. To make it even worse these clubs now have so much money that they can reduce or freeze their ticket prices whilst clubs in the Football league keep increasing them to try and balance the books. It could end up cheaper to watch some premier games than League 2 football!! Don't know how you solve this problem. You are right though - IF we can get/stay near to the top and keep playing this exciting brand of football (which imo is the best in many many years - thank you Rob and Smurf) some will drift back - how many, difficult to say.

We scored 11 goals in2 home games at the end of the 80s in the promotion season, against Cardiff and Chesterfield on a Saturday and the following Monday, not sure how many times we have done it since in league games at home Saturday and midweek.
Maybe in the Andy Jones era?
